Ice Castles Wisconsin | Must Know Tips for Your Visit

If you’re struggling with cabin fever or have already done all your go-to winter lake activities, we have one more for you! The Lake Geneva Ice Castles are open for a few more days, with the last day targeted for March 3rd.

Lake Effect Co’s Amanda recently spent a glorious afternoon exploring the castles and we wanted to share her pro-tips for making it the most Instagram-worthy and enjoyable experience!

LOGISTICS

• BUY YOUR TICKETS ONLINE. Ice Castle tickets are NOT available at the resort and must be purchased on their website.
• PARKING. Thecastles are located at Riviera Beach (812 Wrigley Drive, Lake Geneva) on the shore of Geneva Bay. Metered parking is available along the beachfront (metered parking and lots are free from through the end of February). Additional free parking is located several blocks in on smaller side streets.
• There are no bathrooms inside, go before you get there.
• Get there at the start of your time period, as it does fill up.

NOT TO MISS

• A few little fireplaces throughout, so come prepared to stay a while.
• Slides and fun crawling spaces - wear your snow pants!
• MANY little private nooks, serving as great photo opps!
• The staff members inside are super willing to help with pics, and they want you to get great shots, so don’t be afraid to ask!
• Awesome lake view that you can’t miss - there’s a spot to crawl up on to really take advantage.
• Photos are TOTALLY encouraged. They have a few hashtags and love resharing your posts #icecastles and #icecastleslakegenva
• Awesommmmmmmmme at sunset, lighting is GREAT because the sun is coming down over the water. CHASE MORE SUNSETS.
